In these bye-laws unless there in anything repugnant in the subject or context :
- 'Act' means the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative
Societies Act, 1965 (U.P Act No. XI of 1966) as amended from time to time.

'Apex Society' has the same meaning as defined in Rule 2(b) for purposes mentioned in the Act and the rules.

'Federation' means the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd., Lucknow .

'Registrar' means the person for the time deing appointed as Registrar of cane cooperative Societies and includes any person appointed under sub-Section (2) of Section 3 of the Act exercising all or any of the powers of the Registrar.

'Rules' means the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Societies Rules, 1968, as amended from time to time.

'Cooperative Sugar Factory' means vacuum pan sugar mill of Cooperative Sector.

'Weaker Section' means as provided in the Act and Rules.
