Durring the year 2000-01 in all the 27 co-operative sugar mill 25068 M.Ton nitrogen, 4484 MT. Phosphorous and 1270 MT Potash was distributed. Under improved variety seed program 990 Hect foundation seed nurseries were established. Factories lifted 19098 qtls nuclear seed from different Research Stations and Agricultural University, Pant Nagar. Under very fast multiplication program, 3678 qtls of seed used for polybag nurseries. Out of 990 hect foundation seed nurseries, the area under polybag nurseries was 141 hect.

During the year 2000-01 a total quantity of 30.37 lacs qtls seed of different improved varieties was distributed in the area of 27 sugar mills.

In order to make available clean and mature cane to the factories , a new scheme was launched. Every field supervisor was made incharge of the circle consisting of 4-5 centers in the factory areas.
Supervisor had to ensure daily cane purchase as per indent, regular lifting of cane, supply of clean and fresh cane at all the centers of his circle. Supervisors were also responsible for taking daily cane purchase report to the factory gate by the next morning.

Out of 27 sugar factories, 20 mills have got their own computer system. These mills generate purchies, calendars and bank advices from the computers. 23 sugar mills have computerised cane weighment at their mill gates.

In all 10 sugar mills, all the electronic weigbridges at the mill gate are interlinked with each other and with main computer system. Further, in 5 sugar mills the networking program is under progress.

With a view to managing the cane centers well, 10 sugar mills have installed the wireless systems. These wireless system have been found very useful in avoiding the mill stoppages due to "No Cane". Besides this, Factories get fresh cane from the centers and thereby recovery is also increased.
